Introduction  

Campus Connect builds technology and services that enable university students, faculty, and staff to connect with each other, build communities, and foster intercultural engagement. 

As an entrepreneurial project funded and supported by the DKU Innovation Incubator (Dii), Campus Connect does not charge users for its services unless stated otherwise. By using our platform, you agree that we may show you content and send notifications based on your preferences and interests. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or share identifying information (such as name, email, or contact information) without your explicit permission. We may, however, provide DKU faculty, staff, and event organizers with reports that summarize interactions with their content, including views, likes, and comments. 

User Experience and Security  

Your experience on Campus Connect is personalized based on your activity and preferences. We work hard to ensure the security, availability, authenticity, and confidentiality of our platform. If we detect misuse, harmful conduct, or receive reports of violating content, we may take appropriate action, including notifying you, offering assistance, removing content, restricting access, or contacting law enforcement if necessary. We reserve the right to access, use, and share information collected about you in compliance with legal obligations. 

Community Guidelines  

For a safe and accountable community, users must: 

Campus Connect is available to those 13 years or older and cannot be used by individuals who are convicted sex offenders or have had previous accounts disabled for violating these terms. 

Prohibited Activities  

You may not: 

We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these provisions. If we remove content, we will inform you of the reasons and provide options for review unless doing so would cause legal issues or disrupt the integrity of our platform. 

Reporting and Content Removal  

We encourage users to report content or conduct that violates their rights or our policies. We may remove or restrict access to content or services if necessary to avoid misuse or legal risks. 

Permissions You Grant Us  

To provide our services, we need certain permissions from you regarding the content you create and share. When you upload or share content on Campus Connect, you retain ownership of your intellectual property. However, by posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, and worldwide license to use, distribute, modify, and display your content as necessary to provide and improve our services. 

You may delete content at any time, and all content associated with your account will be deleted if you choose to delete your account. 

We want Campus Connect to be a place where people feel welcome and safe to express themselves and share their thoughts and ideas. If we determine, in our discretion, that you have clearly, seriously or repeatedly breached our Terms or Policies, we may suspend or permanently disable your access to Campus Connect, and we may permanently disable or delete your account. We may also disable or delete your account if you repeatedly infringe other people’s intellectual property rights or where we are required to do so for legal reasons. 

We may disable or delete your account if after registration your account is not confirmed, your account is unused and remains inactive for an extended period of time, or if we detect someone may have used it without your permission and we are unable to confirm your ownership of the account. Where we take such action, we’ll let you know and explain any options you have to request a review, unless doing so may expose us or others to legal liability; harm our community of users; compromise or interfere with the integrity or operation of any of our services, systems or Products; where we are restricted due to technical limitations; or where we are prohibited from doing so for legal reasons. 

We work constantly to improve our services and develop new features to make our platform better for you and our community. As a result, we may need to update these Terms from time to time to accurately reflect our services and practices, to promote a safe and secure experience on our services, and/or to comply with applicable law. We will only make any changes if the provisions are no longer appropriate or if they are incomplete, and only if the changes are reasonable and take due account of your interests or if the changes are required for safety and security purposes or to comply with applicable law. 

We will notify you (for example, by email or through our platform) at least 30 days before we make changes to these Terms and give you an opportunity to review them before they go into effect, unless changes are required by law. Once any updated Terms are in effect, you will be bound by them if you continue to use our platform. 

We hope that you will continue using our platform, but if you do not agree to our updated Terms and no longer want to be a part of the Campus Connect community, we can delete your account at any time with your permission.  

We always appreciate your feedback and other suggestions about our products and services. But we may use feedback and other suggestions without any restriction or obligation to compensate you, and we are under no obligation to keep them confidential.
